Faber-Castell's Polychromos pencils use an oil-based technology for blending smoothly without the concern of waxy bloom that results with wax-based colored pencils.

Each pencil contains the highest quality pigments for unsurpassed lightfastness. Buttery-smooth color laydown can be easily blended for layered effects, highlights, and transitions. Thick 3.8mm leads are break and water-resistant, smudgeproof, and provide permanent, rich color.

Housed in premium California cedar wood casing with SV bonding to strengthen lead and resist breakage, while providing sharp fine lines and excellent point retention.

Updated color names: Several Polychromos pencils are undergoing a change to their color name. The color tone and color number are the same, but the following color names have been updated:
-130 Dark Flesh -> 130 Salmon
-131 Medium Flesh -> 131 Coral
-132 Light Flesh ->132 Beige Red
