These recycled pencils with vermilion lead from Tombow's Ki-monogatari ("tree story") series are crafted with care and environmentally conscious from the inside out.
They’re created using a finger joint technique that joins wood offcuts, making it possible to reuse scrap wood and eliminate wood waste. The graphite is recycled as well, derived as a by-product during the factory's manufacturing process, then meticulously separated, refined, and transformed into high-purity recycled lead. Finally, recycled paper is used for the packaging.
In 1992, these became the very first pencils to earn an "Eco Mark" certification.
