Nicholson's Transparent Peerless Watercolors began in the late 1880's, from the efforts of a chemist looking for ways to colorize black and white photos. This original collection features 15 colors on individual sheets inside a conveniently compact and portable paper booklet.
Each sheet is a heavy layer of concentrated pure color coated on one side of a special paper fabric. Touch a sheet with a wet brush and you immediately pick up a clean, brilliant color. A small piece can also be torn from the sheet and mixed with water on a plate or palette.
Sheets are handmade with professional grade watercolors and each measure 2 1/2" x 6 1/2".
Included colors are Brilliant Yellow, Deep Yellow, Orange Yellow, Ripe Peach, Geranium Pink, Japonica Scarlet, Royal Crimson, Mahogany Brown, Sepia Brown, Light Green, Dark Green, Deep Blue, Sky Blue, Wistaria Violet, and Pearl Gray.
